Program A—Teacher Education Program

Teachers of English as a Foreign Language that are looking to refresh their teaching and learning strategies are invited to join the teachers’ program. This course is recommended for teachers of English as a Foreign Language who wish to participate in a professional development opportunity. This participatory course will help teachers engage their elementary, secondary or adult students through interactive and dynamic teaching-learning strategies.
There will be opportunities to learn and practice innovative teaching strategies, presentation skills, assessment techniques and activities for the multi-level classroom. You will have the opportunity to examine the criteria you set for success.
Throughout the course, the expert educators from Toronto, Canada will address your own specific interests and will work with you to assist and support your individualized professional teaching needs. Personal and professional growth will come from engaging in ‘literature circle’ discussions, examining websites and resources that will support your program, reflective journal writing, creative thinking and sharing your ideas with new colleagues and friends. You will come away with renewed excitement for teaching English with a variety of effective techniques, strategies and activities for your classroom to enhance student participation and achievement.

The course instructors are leaders in supporting English language acquisition in Toronto, Canada. The Toronto public school system is respected across Canada for its innovative approaches to language learning. As the largest school board in Canada with over 500 schools, Toronto faces the challenging task of teaching English to new immigrants who speak over 70 different languages.

Our course instructors have Master’s Degrees and many years experience as classroom teachers and program leaders. They have taught qualification courses at the University of Toronto and other Canadian universities for English as a Second Language teachers. They consult with the Ministry of Education for the Province of Ontario to create curriculum for secondary school English language learning. With experience teaching teachers in other countries, they bring an understanding of the needs of teachers everywhere who want to deliver the best programs to their students.
Another of the course instructors has a PhD in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and administers a large English language school. He is a global expert in computerized language testing and will share ideas about the concepts of testing and assessment.

The program takes place at the Antalya International College of Tourism which is the home base of Eduxperience programs in July 2012. Session One runs from July 2-13; Session Two runs July 16-27, Monday to Friday.
Each session is 50 hours. The daily schedule is from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Lunch is served at the Antalya International College of Tourism.
After class, there is plenty of time to read, reflect and enjoy the leisure activities of the beautiful holiday resort city.
